In My Dream He is There
in my dream
you are dressed in clothes
you no longer had
there you were, once again,
dad…
you had an apron on
and i questioned,
how you could be there
the apron was for carpentry
and the, you said,
i will make something,
one last thing
the emotion welled up
but i knew it was a dream
it was like,
you were the practical dad
that never was
how could this be
it felt like an apology
from the back of my mind
in life,
i am not sure you were that soft and kind
or that willing to be, dad
the dream ended
with photographs that i know do not exist
i wake to a cold february day
one that that grey clouds have passionately kissed
