Deadbeat – Written Wednesday 21st July 1999 (Aged 24)

Deadbeat

i feel lazy
i feel deadbeat
my eyes are yours
but do not leave me half crazy –
in a bedroom with no door
money is hard to come by
it is not like the need to cry
i feel for you,
i feel like you do
sitting there in the sun
i know, it isn’t getting it done
but compared to the usual work
it is a lot more fun
you fingers were good –
they left my spine –
and entered my dreams
i feel lazy
i feel deadbeat
particularly in this summertime heat
give all the people a break
just give me a different week
