Medicine – Written Saturday 8th May 1999 (Aged 24)

Medicine

a medicine for the pain
perhaps, a medicine for the sane
be there, but not in rags
a medicine for the pain
perhaps, a medicine for the sad
be there, with either silver or gold
do not shive and feel so old
a medicine for the pain
perhaps, an ending to all this rain
be there with good emotions
no illusions and a solid defence
a medicine for the the individual
i am easily kept
even when i am a little lost
be there with smiles
golden smiles and the belief of a child
before their tears wash that away
be there forever or even a week
a medicine for today
a medicine to help us speak
to speak about the things we truly feel

James Garratt – Sunday 8th May 1999
