One Day – Written Between February and June 1995 (Aged 20)

One Day

one day we change
one day we are not the same
not as we were before
one day we talk differently
and it is forever more
i was caught in a trap
that is a fact
do not read me if you want to know –
the real me
read my words
of personal poetry
my prose and my verse
because she is screaming to be free
whilst i am dreaming about being me
and she is screaming to be all those people
that we would love to be
one day we change
and start to see the world so differently

    1. Thank you – it depends what you read – i was writing everything down so it is very hit and miss – some of my pieces still have an awkward childlike feel to them but i think (hopefully) I was learning. I think I was just trying to capture everything 🙂

      1. Hahaha the funny thing is I hated reading until about my Junior year of college (21) and it was around the end of my senior year of college did I notice how reading improved my writing. 🙂 but hey, we’re all here!
