Splinters
am i too old
for waiting on a girl
a woman, a lady
it is a crazy world
and it sends me crazy
and am i too much
i crave the educator
and question this love
i never thought,
this would be my life
i serve it with salad
and leave out the knives
i crept to the door
here i am,
just waiting on another girl
i smile a lot these days
it is that kind of world
but i feel like
i am fending off winter
and it has become too easy
just to live with splinters
