Fruitcake – Written May 2006 (Aged 31)

Fruitcake

they gobbled up all the fruitcake
and they added raisins to
they could not get enough
and they ate more than too much
they ate more than their share
but they love fruitcake
and it seems they hunt it out
and it is something they love freely
it is kind of apt really
because fruitcake,
is the first thing that springs to mind –
when thinking of them
and we have all watched
as they gobbled up all the fruitcake
never licking their lips
or wiping their face
they have gorged on fruitcake
for it, they really have the taste
when it comes to how many slices
no surprise, none go to waste
