Honeymoon – Written Tuesday 24th October 2000 (Aged 25)

i enjoy the honeymoon
but it changes so soon
one day it is the bright morning
then it is overcast afternoon
so it is goodbye to the honeymoon
and words once said
now it is the usual complications
and analysing it to death
no compromises,
no commitment,
only leads to hurt
but these constant let downs
just feel worse
the past is dragged from the river
given no blanket,
and forced to sit on the bank and shiver
and all you hear are endless words
on why together will never deliver
i enjoy the honeymoon,
but it ends so quick
and i am hopeless at guessing
just a blind man with no stick
this is too familiar and of it, i am so sick
