The Middle Class Guide
social media has subverted us
just as the electric car
has wrongly diverted us
the curse,
that comes to pass
is the ruling middle class
burdened by stability
and professional roles
they warm themselves with solar panels
and choke on hot coals
there is a theme,
that cannot be parked
a world of houses and chiseled parks
the curse of doing well
and sucking the life –
out of a social media kiss and tell
husband and wife –
peer deep into their back garden well
others in life,
fell,
but hope no one noticed
or perhaps they refused to admit it
social media has consumed us
