Must Be a Learning Experience – Written Between February and June 1995 (Aged 20)

Must Be a Learning Experience

so much nonsense
everyone just looked at each other
must be a learning experience
there was crying and shouting
and a lot of exploitation
when it came to people’s fears
i was running scared
trying to sit on the fence
everyone sighed
must be a learning experience
that was the only guess
every other possible explanation
seemed totally remote
people took sides
and set up camp
everyone was looking for a champ
no one wanted to be a bad guy
and those with unnecessary attachments
started feeling tense
and it was left to them to summarise
and all they could say was that,
it must be a learning experience
i wanted to check out
i thought this a dump
i was drinking heavily
trying to look for solace as i got drunk
but i just sobered up quickly
someone said it was caused by them
high on jealously
not as she though, high on ecstasy
as we all filed out
they were dug into a trench
we could only turn to each other and look
must be a learning experience
