The Last Cup – Written Between February and June 1995 (Aged 20)

The Last Cup

no one told me
i thought it was finished
thought i had drunk the last cup
they say,
people fall for you in a couple of days
you must remember,
that i do not always follow other people’s ways
no one told me
just how i should act
do not push me away
i am not so sure i would come back
so if you want me to stay, then say
now i am confused
you do not seem to see the fantasy
that i often see
but then i know, sometimes it is better
to be much closer to reality

James Garratt – February to June 1995
