Replace You – Written Wednesday 11th February 2009 (Aged 33)

Replace You

you said, replace you –
with somebody else
but nobody is replaced
just feelings on another stage
exploring the world
discovering new lands
how can i replace you
after all these years
an imprint on my life
far and so often near
now i just put you away
but so much more
the toy no longer played
you said, replace you
but i would be lost for words
i know this place –
which i find myself
it is not all pretty
but sometimes it is –
the way things fall
i can not replace you
but i cannot be at your beck and call
