Un-Prise Fingers
this un-prising of fingers
it sad but true
it is time we left
and time we grew
this, slowly closing the door
it is sad but true
it is time to move on
move on to somewhere new
i am sad,
and i still dream
but it is too bad
so much we could have been
finding each other
then on each other we lean
the un-prising of fingers
that tightly held grip
the weight of our past
is sometimes a struggle to lift
but to avoid a situation –
that continues to hinder
i must un-prise these fingers
