Flowers in Your Field
flowers in your field
growing
like memories of an old friend
what you mean to me
carried on life’s wind
the breeze that blows –
pollen onto our field
that soaks up the dew
when we build
i rest my head and then i look
flowers in your field
growing
but i no longer understand
i find oil paintings instead
in a gallery
in my head
i wonder where growth went
growing
but now so different
