How People See Me – Written Thursday 10th September 2009 (Aged 34)

How People See Me

how people see me
sometimes comes as a surprise
i shadow box in my own world
and map the soul within my eyes
how people treat me
sometimes comes as a surprise
deeply sensitive
not hard to hurt inside
to find the inner sanctum
no need for crowbar to prise
those droplets of comfort
that came in childhood
from well meaning people
those hopes for a settlement
a little contentment
how people love me
sometimes comes as a surprise
i feel the warmth
and see the love in their eyes
all of those who abuse us
can be left behind in the dust
let the skeleton’s of their dreams
dissolve and turn to rust
