Gathering Speed

the idea of someone –
falling in love
and sweeping me off my feet
is gathering speed
just the notion
and a need to believe
it is a healthy dream
rather than just base desire
i need the armchair
and the homelit fires
the idea of someone –
falling in love with me
someone special
and something they –
believe in
it seems to be real
a tangible norm
and something i can feel
