Autobiographical Books
the years
are starting to steal their looks
and their eyes
are busy, writing autobiographical books
there is something –
in their face –
that says –
my life used to be such a different place
the kind where cars parked
children played –
and picnics were had
the years
are behind them
and something in their look
tells me –
they will continue to write reflective books
it was the light upon their face
that told a tale
and of course, there are many sides to a story
but as i caught them, sitting here
there was something about their history
something that told a different tale
perhaps a time of lemented dreams
which once had so hopefully set sail
