It Won’t Hurt to Cry a Little – Written Wednesday 12th May 1999 (Aged 24)

It Won’t Hurt to Cry a Little

you can cry on my shoulder
because i see that you are still a friend
getting younger or getting older
these days are hard
with edges that feel so sharp
i am just looking for my part
and i need all of my heart
if i am to get up and carry on
i see you are still one in a million
and you are still standing out in crowds
but i still see all your hurt
and i know, no one truly understands
you can cry on my shoulder
it won’t hurt to shed a few tears
it has got like that recently
and it won’t hurt to scream a little
i am looking into the cold
you know you have all my faith
and if you ever feel you are going to be late
you know, i will always wait
