Crestfallen Wings
i know i have fallen
my crestfallen wings
tell the tale
the true nature of things
i know you will say,
once again,
that my attitude is too much
and it is never calmed by the pen
i know i have fallen
and that much is true
they stripped my hope
strangely, frustration is nothing new
just a pendulum swinging on my neck
checking the timing
of my heart,
as it beats hopefully within my chest
there is a successful crowd
and it feels just out of reach
i think they are simply called,
all the rest
i know i have failed as we speak
and my boots are up in the air
waiting to connect with my teeth
