The Last Gasp of the Hopefuls
i want to do what i can
so i share a thousand posts
but i never understand
they privatised the dreams
and marketised,
every fear and every scream
they put a charge on lamposts
and a tax on our every lean
it is too late,
the empire of politics,
has crumbled,
and just look at our state
politicians rumbled,
political parties far too late
i cannot knock the hope you spare
but long ago,
it was needed over there
and it was never about us
because power looks to keep power
and corruption snuffs out trust
