Carry – Written Saturday 12th December 2020 (Aged 45)

Carry

there was a time
when i had a weight to carry
a weight,
that felt too much
there was a time
when i had to turn on a light
but i could not make it work
there was a time
where i longed to be held
by the hands of selfishness
hoping,
someone would illustrate my troubles
rebuild my streets
from the childhood rubble
but pragmatism,
offered a prism of realism
that shuffled me along
amongst the waves of
spurious right and wrong
and i fear,
that happening,
the idea that my fog,
will clear,
and that my arms,
and shoulders will be laced
with a superhuman strength
i try and i do truly care
and i long to be well meant
