A Little Praise
it was good –
to see you –
indulge in a little praise
for someone –
so tied in knots
too often, it is easily forgot
caustic remarks
and the strain of resentment
have been the unwelcome present
that is present in your remarks
it ties you to a post
where everything is utterly board
it was good –
to see that a bad word –
for everyone is not your only way
i have felt the whiplash
from the words you say
too often –
you appear at a loss
rummaging through scattered memories
that appear to have a crippling cost
