More Diet Drinks
it is true
that it is that diet you chew
self esteem
has fallen through
weight another risk
that cannot be weighed
diet drinks,
to quench your fate
slimming world
and words like, ‘cin’
those that feel
they have escaped
gorge on perceived success
from a bone china plate
eat up and keep it down
you are chastised,
then chased around and around
you were beautiful before
the weight was lost
but quenching life’s dream
has seen no thawing of the frost
now you can tell others
and maybe not be like them
but the horror of self opinion
is a slightly terrifying friend
