Time is Ticking on the Clock
i float –
towards later years
the slides
the swings
the youthful eyes
and the things they bring
the madness
and the sadness
the exaggerated feelings –
of being alone
evenings in a trance
or stuck on the phone
the nights lost
and the days never found
the people who just pushed in
the people who stuck around
there is an edge –
a kind of youth based lunacy
that later years shakes off
because you come to realise –
that time is ticking on the clock
