Wash Right Away

if i told you i loved you
it would wash right away
it cannot mend or fix
and it is just a word people say
if i told you i need you
it would fall right away
it seems so selfish
it is just a desperate word to say
if i say, but i do,
no matter how often i repeat it
you would never actually believe it
but i do…
no point in wasting breath
no point finding words
if i told you i loved you
you would not believe it is true
wipe away the rain from the windows
i do, i really do
