A Conversation

it was a conversation
that has arrived
some thirty years too late
better late than never…
it was a conversation
that made me think
and brought tears to the surface
i should have been told
when i was a child
then my belief
may not have run wild
it was a conversation
that has arrived
in the midst of devastation
it was a conversation
some thirty years too late
thirty years after i needed it
