I Know People

i know people
more than they know
and more,
than they would care to admit
i know people
and i see their true self
behind,
the lifetimes work
which is their social mask
the enterprise,
that goes into that task
i know people
and i know what they think
and i think that they know
that sadness likes to drink
i am those people
who try to hide
their past and their experiences
under personal skies
but i see, i know,
and i can see what is inside
