I Am Here

you said i make your life –
just a little bit more interesting
that is not even half as much –
as you do for me
you take my life worries,
and you make me leave them be
you listen to my stories
of over dramatised gossip
and teenage sensation
i know, i know we are not together
and i do not think we have that destination
but i will always be here
just call me,
and you need me, i will be near
i will never ask why
because i know you would do the same
i know you care,
i know you are there
i do miss you when you are not around
and i hope, when things do go wrong
you do not get too down
