Tip Toe Quietly
all the time you walk –
right out of here
electric lights
beam down low
the music is heavy
but movement is slow
who is going to tell you
what to do now
now you are on your own
when you come back
there is no one home
someday someone –
is going to catch you
that is all you can wait for
because when it becomes dark
there is no more
holding a book,
reading lightly
be careful now,
tip toe quietly
James Garratt – 1994
