Pausing for Thought
you are never going to change me
the only person,
who will ever change me
is myself, and nobody else
i am who i am
and that is all there is
i do not care if you do not understand
just look out for the future,
take its hand
i saw the future
it drove down my road
and pulled up slowly
pausing for thought
because it felt quite lonely
and it knew the past had been bought
i closed my curtains,
knowing that the change
would never get me
only if i want out
but i would not jump out of a plane
just so i could be free
and i would never burn the change
that helps me see, that helps me
