Claire
i think about claire everyday
the sister i never knew
the sister who got away
claire got away from all the fighting
but did she get off lightly
claire could be beautiful,
tall and thin,
she could be fat and ugly
and finding it hard to fit in
she could have children of her own
she could be on dope
living on the streets
and calling a box home
i do not think she is a princess
and i hope she does not think about her father
i hope she knows, that on that count
she get off lightly
claire to me is mysterious escapism
the sister who i never knew
the sister who i have never known
and who’s baby photographs
are the only ones i have been shown
claire, where are you?
what are you doing
how are you getting by
who are you seeing
i want to be there because you are my sister
i want you to know that i care
but where are you, where are claire?
where, where, where?
