Jack and Jill – Written Sunday 23rd October 1994 (Aged 19)

Jack and Jill

is she real? did jack go up the hill?
a teenager in crisis
who does not know how he feels
a girl called something strange
wednesday he knows her,
but today he has forgotten her name
jack went up to fetch a pale of water
however, soon jill’s tummy began to grow
and then they had a daughter
is she real? jack does not know

he is not there, not that he does not care
he smokes to cope, his crown is broken
what he id, was just a way to show he did care
but now things have gone wrong, it is just a token
of total innocence, he did not lost anything
they did not lose anything, just their naivety
now jill, she is all alone
with a new found unwanted sense of maturity
and he is left with terrible feelings
mostly of insecurity
jack and jill are not real, are they?
