Old Times – Written Thursday 28th October 1994 (Aged 19)

Old Times

do you remember
trying to grow up
or are you growing up now?
i think we all are
memories living in the mind
could you forget
yes, it is so strange
the summer of ’83
would you live it again
in that strange time and place
if you could
i wonder if i would
i genuinely care
now i am on the run
only with her i am not so scared
she makes such good images
with the things she wears
i never meant to grow up into this
i got cold
from trying to live a normal life
i watched myself in crisis
friends trying to find a wife
trying to stop lonely insanity
and swop it for something good
it is all so confusion
i have not got a clue what i am gaining
or what i am losing
