The Value of Self – Written Tuesday 6th April 2021 (Aged 46)

The Value of Self

the value of self
feels important right now
in a world
that feeds on our individuality
and buys up our personality
i feel like hitting back
if only as a formality
and that,
is where,
i found myself today
as an unexpected dusting of light snow
falls from a warm april sky
onto sleeping rooftops
causing radiators to wake up
and come back into service
that is how it feels
today, at present, in this moment
the value of self
