Stranger – Written Thursday 17th November 1994 (Aged 19)

Stranger

i can be, just what you like
who is to say i am wrong
and who is to say i am right
i cannot believe –
it has all gone away
what was held so close,
yesterday
i am such a stranger
such a stranger,
and like everyone else
woman child and man
l am lost in a world
which i will never understand
this is a time
which is full of confusion
i can only reach
and hope for an illusion
one which will help me escape
it should not be a one night thing
so by the phone i helplessly wait
somehow, someway, in a dream
i am a stranger in my own world
just a stranger
