A Pool of Anxiety
it was the responsibility
of previous generations
to raise their children
in such ways
as not to leave them –
in a dark deep pool of anxiety
alone in a world
that bothers them
from every direction
how can previous generations
criticise the younger ones
when it was their responsibility
to ensure
that we all felt confident
and that we were not left in
the dark deep pool of anxiety
yet they absolve themselves
and cast off their children
without skill or care
out in the pool
of anxiety and despair
