The Thirties Landscape

everyone is ever so –
slightly fucked up
it is like, 30’s has a sign –
which says –
i have had enough
broken hearts tell me
people have had enough
and that it has been
extraordinarily tough
hit the decade
and start to turn

everyone is ever so –
slightly fucked up
some more than others
it is the collective imprint
of so many lovers
and the search –
the search for another
we hang over railings
as so called singles
we cannot hide our failings
lost in this thirty something sea
we are truly failing
and we do not know what to be
