Vantage Point – Written Monday 27th March 2000 (aged 25)

Vantage Point

so i sit,
and i look out
from this vantage point
of twenty five –
and one month
mistakes by now,
can be expensive
and it is to feel lost
but i live
and i try to forget their cost
so i sit,
and try to detect what it means
i try to keep myself warm
i wrap up in the fabric of human beings
all those that keep me from the cold
those that keep me alive
and not feeling old
so it sit,
from this vantage point
of twenty five
and one month
and i look out across the land
searching, as you do
desperately wanting to understand
