The Devil’s Midnight
the devil’s midnight window
hold a candle,
and see the shadows dance
swap endless lovers
for a summer
or a true another
anarchic trains pull in
to sweep away ballet dancers
who swallow their gin
see the shadows dance
beyond the butterfly’s wings
the dips and the swoops
like the fog of alantis
and life’s rich soup
peel away like lemons
peel away the days
the devil’s midnight window
is something of a maze
