I Was Questioned
all my childhood
there were demands
a demand,
well a demand for answers
and as,
my national health glasses
covered my eyes
it was a demand
a demand that lacked personal supply
why don’t you understand
why don’t you know
and then, that rising panic
that grips you and does not let go
why can’t you see it
why don’t you understand
i could see their eyes
and i could see and feel their frustration
and even anger,
their anger barely had to lurk
and i was trying to find the right year
so my brain would work
people eternally frustrated
frustrated with your very being
just because, you cannot see
see the things they are seeing

I Was Questioned – Written Tuesday 25th May 2021 (Aged 46)

This is a very relatable piece! There is so much I understand now, and I remember how when I was younger I was in charge of knowing these things, but I was just too young to understand.
