I Sit By The Pool
i swam in my feelings
when i was younger
i double dared myself
to almost drown in them
now i sit by the pool
wondering if for all that time
i was just a fool
i swam in my feelings
when i was younger
i did lengths and miles
i dived bombed
just for smiles
now i sit by the pool
wondering if for all that time
i was just a fool
i swam in my feelings
when i was younger
i invited them to find me,
overwhelm me,
and drag me down
so destructive,
now i just sit by the pool
and wonder,
was any of it actually constructive
and as i look at the puddles
in my pool
wondering all the time
was i just a fool
