Success is Just a Word

success is just a word
but, what does it actually mean
do you colour in –
every individual letter
with the colour shades of your dreams

it is not success
it is stubbornness
except stubbornness is unruly
and it is a hooligan
it is not success
it is arrogance
except arrogance is misplaced pride
and it will not back down

what is success
what does it actually mean
do you underline it
with every hopeful feeling
do you sit
and admire its vaulted ceiling
i do not know how to define any of it
is success just a running compilation
as you find a way to fit
