Make Believe
make believe
kiss and make up
the slide that never ends
playing,
playing let’s pretend
i may be older now
but,
i still need my make believe
i need my fantasy world
that need –
has not diminished –
as i have got older
the world inside gets warmer
the world outside,
it just gets colder
i want escapism –
from my tenement
make believe,
is all that i need
