The Mighty Ship
i drunk orange juice
in a way
where it was never diluted
i could have condensed it down
to just one sip
that is middle age
and that’s what its like on the mighty ship
i write a book
and I illustrated every paragraph
as if I was a monk and a scribe
i gave pronouns and nouns
a flick of something deep inside
i used my favourite felt tip
because that is middle age
and that’s what its like on the mighty ship
i used to run around
and turn on all the lights
using my memory
to store every scene
and every revolving clip
but,
now I know, not everything fits
that is middle age
and that’s what its like on the mighty ship

🙂 Yep. It’s upon me :). I spend so much time thinking about being young – I wanted to look at ‘middle age’.

When is middle age exactly?

I think it’s a reference point in your life when you’re slightly more comfortable, still with doubt but accepting of your flaws.

Ah I was looking for an age wondering if I was there yet, lol

Well it depends – I am 46 so for me, that feels like a fit – perhaps it is a state of mind more than an age 🙂

Yes, I understand. But sometimes that’s not easily within grasp. Always available though 🙂
