Country Break – Written Thursday 2nd March 1995 (Aged 20)

Country Break

you and me getting away –
on a country break
fresh air and scenic views
no more tears
and no more blues
we need to get away
we have had enough –
of the lies we have been fed
by people who do no really care
we need to sort our our heads
we need a country break
to get away from it all
i do not believe in myself
not anymore
i know i have been a fool
and you do not know –
if you are coming or going
but i know it is long haul
some people are close
some people smother you
and when i talk to you –
i am far away
but i want you with me
because i would love you near
let’s pack away our minds
take a country break –
and get ourselves out of here
just you and me
because we are going –
crazy in the head
plagued by demons and memories
wishing they were dead
no more heartache just you and me
going to take a country break
