Your Bed Bed Remains Unmade
it hits me in the morning
it strikes me –
square in the heart
and when,
my eyes open
i realise it is another day
and you are not here
i know i am lucky –
to have someone
who, although new –
to my life
is catching me when i fall back
if you were here…
if only you were here
to share in our future
we had so many plans
but… they are blown away
with the life’s sand
i talk to you
like you are still here
and i hope you are safe and well
i know, that is silly…
but i hope you are not afraid
i know you are somewhere in all of us now
even if your bed remains unmade
