Dustbin Lids
i was just a kid
playing my tunes –
on a dustbin lid
i should have chosen the banjo
or maybe the guitar
either of those
could have taken me far
i was just a kid
playing games
and flipping my lid
am auction house worker
chasing every bid
i was just a kid
hanging out
and on the coat tails
of the interested and inspired
it is only the revelation of age
that makes us tired
