She Has the Best Conversation
drinking coffee,
getting by –
on the best conversation
but before it finds the podium
let’s hold off the elation
she says,
keep my hands warm
and let me buy you coffee
aside from conversation
i have always thrived on tea
she gets a cold drink
and we rail against the system
we agree, should people –
take to the streets
we will be there to take part
we will sloganeer
and we will march
i tell her of my beliefs
sat there in the warm
away from the gathering sleet
she has the best conversation
