It’s Not The Same

life carries on…
much the same
but…
it’s not the same
life carries on
with its bucket and spade
making its sandcastle dreams
but life has washed them away

life carries on…
much the same
what i seem to carry
seems to be largely irrelevant
no one sees the strain
and no one knows i am intelligent
or that i feel
life carries on much the same
and what is now is absolutely real
but life is not the same
