Friendship and Connection
we have been friends for such a long time
safe spaces, saying things
that to others would be outrageous
but between us, it is fine
we have had seats,
ringside seats to each others trauma
slowly, though anger becoming closer
till eventually,
like all good friendships,
the connection is natural
and goes beyond the bygone days of our lives
beyond days of carrying our school satchels
friendship and connection,
in these middle aged days, feels so natural
