Torrential Rain
they lied to me again
tried to raise a smile
but i had it adopted
and that takes a while
they lied to me again
hung my head so low
tripped off the moon
and the sun’s morning glow
give me another lie
i’ll see how far i can throw
they lied to me again
watched them squirm
as if honesty,
had them by the throat
as if lies had built a boat
to keep them afloat
i knew the truth
but i left to donate some money
for the holy church roof
they should take a train
to somewhere simple
to somewhere almost plain
where the lies are washed away
by the torrential rain
